The title of King bookends the earthly life of Jesus. In Matthew 2, the Magi declare that Jesus was born a King. In his death, Pilate appropriately assigns him the title of King as well. However, the title of King isn’t something that doesn’t come without implications. If Jesus is King, then everyone and everything is under his authority.
