Saturated with allusions to the story of the Exodus, the New Testament vividly portrays the Advent of Jesus as the fulfillment of all that is promised to the people of Israel. First, in Christ Jesus, God makes himself fully known. John 1:18 says, “No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.” In other words, Christ Jesus, the Word of God, is everything the Father has to say to his people.
