Jesse Gordon

I grew up in North Georgia and in eighth grade a ministry opportunity moved my family to Central Oklahoma. There, I picked up guitar around the age of 13 and soon after began leading worship for my youth group. I studied communication at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma and after graduation moved to Wake Forest, NC to attend Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Within a few hours of arriving in Wake Forest (literally), I met Whitney who would become my wife almost exactly a year later. We attended North Wake Church, and in 2013 were sent out as part of the planting team for Exchange with a focus on worship leadership. I love getting to hang out with our boys, Harden and Brooks, playing disc golf or building Lego creations. I work full-time as an Educator at Counter Culture Coffee in Durham, NC and would love to share a cup of coffee with you sometime!

My hope for Exchange is that we would be a people who encourage one another, “singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in our hearts to God,” (Colossians 3.16) which helps us to bury the truth of the gospel deep into our hearts and build our lives on the firm foundation that is Jesus Christ.
