Call to Prayer: Psalm 33:20–22

Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you.

Time of Gratitude

“Give thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Eph. 5:20).

Take this time to give thanks to God for three (3) specific things from the last 24 hours.

Praying the Lord’s Prayer: “Give us this day our daily bread”

Jesus, we ask you for your provision and sustenance for our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world. We ask for sustenance and provision—for endurance as they suffer. It is impossible to imagine the lives of those planted in incredibly difficult places, so we lean on your spirit to intercede for us where we have no words, no idea of what to pray for them. They are your people, the fruit of your gospel. We know that you are with them, even as you’re here with us today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture Reading from the Psalms: Psalm 89

  1. How do you see the sovereignty of God in this passage?
  2. How might God be calling you into obedience today?

Need in the World to be Restored: Persecution

We pray for the persecuted church preparing to meet together around the world. We pray against barriers and persecution that would prevent them from gathering this weekend. We pray that the time they share would be edifying and encouraging as they study God’s work and pray together. Thank you that we are not alone in America in our pursuit of Christ.

Commission to Serve the King:
Philippians 2:3–4

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
