Call to Prayer: Psalm 65:9

You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it.

Time of Gratitude

“Give thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Eph. 5:20).

Take this time to give thanks to God for three (3) specific things from the last 24 hours.

Praying the Lord’s Prayer: “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”

God Almighty, thank you for being the King that makes all things right, who takes what is broken and makes it new.  Yours is a kingdom that brings life to dead places and light to darkness. We want to be a part of YOUR kingdom. But we know that it requires putting to death our own will to take up yours. So we do it with gladness in our hearts knowing that far better things lie ahead than anything we leave behind. May each moment on earth look a bit more like heaven as we joyfully bow our knee to what you offer. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture Reading from the Gospels: Matthew 6:25–34

  1. How do you see the sovereignty of God in this passage?
  2. How might God be calling you into obedience today?

Praying the Mission of Exchange: “Equip the People of God”

Virtue to Cultivate: Wisdom

While we are called to be wise even as you are wise, we do not serve a God who is unfamiliar or unfeeling towards our frailties and inability to do and be what we should. Thank you that in your Word you says that if any of us lack wisdom we can ask you who gives generously to all without finding fault and you will give it to us (James 1:5–8). We ask you for wisdom today as you do what is set before you to do.

Commission to Serve the King:
Ephesians 5:15–17

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
