Call to Prayer: Psalm 55:22

Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.

Time of Gratitude

“Give thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Eph. 5:20).

Take this time to give thanks to God for three (3) specific things from the last 24 hours.

Praying the Lord’s Prayer: “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us”

We have sinned, Lord. We know that and you know that. So, in your grace, have mercy on us, for we know that we cannot fix ourselves. Search us, O God, and know our heart. Try us and know our thoughts. And see if there be any grievous way in us, and lead us in the way everlasting. Jesus, we pray this for ourselves and for all your people. We thank you, God, that you care enough about us to continue the work of changing our hearts, and conforming us into the image of your son. Amen.

Scripture Reading from the Epistles: Ephesians 1:3–14

  1. How do you see the sovereignty of God in this passage?
  2. How might God be calling you into obedience today?

Praying the Mission of Exchange: “Enjoy the Glory of God”

Attribute of God to Praise: God is Eternal

Give us a glimpse of what it even means to say that you are eternal. Impress in our hearts the enormity of the consequences of that reality, that all else will wear out and fade away, but you will remain. Thank you that you are the God who was, and is, and is to come; you is the beginning and the end. May these truths be a comfort to us in the midst of the temporal.

Commission to Serve the King:
Titus 2:7–8

Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us. Amen.
