Call to Prayer: Psalm 33:18–19

Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine.

Time of Gratitude

“Give thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Eph. 5:20).

Take this time to give thanks to God for three (3) specific things from the last 24 hours.

Prayer for the Church

Almighty God, who on the day of Pentecost sent the Holy Spirit to the disciples with the sound of wind from heaven and tongues as of flame, filling them with joy and boldness to preach the gospel, send us out in the power of the same Spirit to witness to your truth and to draw all people to the fire of your love,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen. [WSB, 711]

Scripture Reading for Pentecost: Acts 2

  1. How do you see the sovereignty of God in this passage?
  2. How might God be calling you into obedience today?

The Gathering of the Redeemed for the Worship of the King

Pray for the gathering of believers for the worship of God. Pray that we may be filled with the Spirit in order that we may worship the Lord in Spirit and Truth. Pray that God will bless the worship of his people, that we may enjoy the glory of God, being fully satisfied in him. Amen.

Commission to Worship the King:
Romans 8:14–17

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
