Call to Prayer: Psalm 127:1–2

Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.

How precious is this steadfast love God! You give us refuge. You give us not just enough but an abundance of joy and peace and grace for the days and moments. You are the only source of life. And in your light only can we see what is true and bright.  Show us how truly glorious this is.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Set not your hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. Do good, be rich in good works, be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for yourselves as a good foundation for the future, so that you may take hold of that which is truly life.
