Call to Prayer: Psalm 130:7

O Israel, hope in the LORD! For with the LORD there is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption.

Time of Gratitude

“Give thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Eph. 5:20).

Take this time to give thanks to God for three (3) specific things from the last 24 hours.

Praying the Lord’s Prayer: “Our Father who are in Heaven, Hallowed by thy Name”

Lord Jesus, we are constrained by our humanness, and from our birth you can take our measure. What we are and what we are not. But not you. You have no measure and no limit to your power, to your holiness. Yet you chose to limit yourself to take on flesh with all its constraints and walk among us so you could say with confidence that you are not unfamiliar with the burdens we bear. Yet you still did it all without sin. Even as you became like us, you were still all that we could not be. Thank you, Jesus, for living a life that we could not live and dying the death that was meant for us. In your name, Amen.

Scripture Reading from the Old Testament: Ezekiel 18

  1. How do you see the sovereignty of God in this passage?
  2. How might God be calling you into obedience today?

Praying the Mission of Exchange: “Enjoy the Glory of God”

Attribute of God to Praise: God is Love

You are the very essence of love—You are Love. We confess that we are quick to question your love for us and others, to even consider ourselves more loving than you are at times. Thank you that you love us with an everlasting, always and forever love that is not based on our behavior or character, but on your own.

Commission to Serve the King:
Hebrews 4:14–16
Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
