Call to Prayer: Psalm 9:9–10

The LORD is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.

Time of Gratitude

“Give thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Eph. 5:20).

Take this time to give thanks to God for three (3) specific things from the last 24 hours.

Praying the Lord’s Prayer: “Our Father who are in Heaven, Hallowed by thy Name”

Heavenly Father, we love you. We love that you are what you are and have always been so. You are holy and we are not. We thank you that in your kindness, you made a way for us to come back to you through your son Jesus. We are not worthy to represent your name, but before the foundations of the world you chose us for yourself, to be not just your servants,  but sons and daughters, coheirs with Christ. We don’t deserve anything from you, and yet you have given us everything. Thank you for being our Father. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture Reading from the Old Testament: Ecclesiastes 3:1–8

  1. How do you see the sovereignty of God in this passage?
  2. How might God be calling you into obedience today?

Praying the Mission of Exchange: “Enjoy the Glory of God”

Attribute of God to Praise: God is Wise

Your thoughts are not our thoughts. Thank you that your ways are higher than ours. By wisdom you founded the earth and by understanding you established the heavens. Thank you that you are both wise and powerful, and you are both perfectly good and infinite in your understanding. In every way we lack, you are wonderfully complete, and lead us into your completeness.
