Call to Prayer: Psalm 42:7–8

Deep calls to deep at the roar of your waterfalls; all your breakers and your waves have gone over me. By day the LORD commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life.

Time of Gratitude

“Give thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Eph. 5:20).

Take this time to give thanks to God for three (3) specific things from the last 24 hours.

Praying the Lord’s Prayer: “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”

Jesus, you’re better than all that we lay aside in your name and for the sake of your kingdom. Our treasures and dominions are a small thing compared to all that we gain from a life fully devoted to following you. So, show us where we are holding on to our empires. The areas we still proclaim MINE.  Let our kingdoms fade and die their deserving deaths. Let our wills and dreams go also. Your kingdom come. Your will be done. Here. And for eternity. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture Reading from the Gospels: Mark 5:21–43

  1. How do you see the sovereignty of God in this passage?
  2. How might God be calling you into obedience today?

Praying the Mission of Exchange: “Equip the People of God”

Virtue to Cultivate: Hope

We confess that we often live as people who have not hope. We confess that we are quick to spiral into despair and chaos, rather than holding fast to the hope that you brought into reality by your death and resurrection.  Ground our hope in you only, for that hope will not be put to shame.

Commission to Serve the King:
Philippians 2:14–16

Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life.
