Call to Prayer: Psalm 22:27–28

All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations shall worship before you. For kingship belongs to the LORD, and he rules over the nations.

Time of Gratitude

“Give thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Eph. 5:20).

Take this time to give thanks to God for three (3) specific things from the last 24 hours.

Praying the Lord’s Prayer: “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”

Our Lord Jesus, our wills have made this world a disaster. Your kingdom come and may it come soon. We need what you have to offer us, God. Because the fixes and solutions we have to bind up this weary and broken world are not working. Our world needs a rest from its toil and labors that only kingdom with you as its rightful King can offer. So come, King Jesus. Fix what we’ve broken. We trust you to do this as only you can. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture Reading from the Gospels: Matthew 28:16–20

  1. How do you see the sovereignty of God in this passage?
  2. How might God be calling you into obedience today?

Praying the Mission of Exchange: “Equip the People of God”

Virtue to Cultivate: Peace

God, fill our hearts with peace and form us into people who are peacemakers. We confess that even as Jesus has told us to be peacemakers, we often seek to divide and bring contention to our spaces. We ask you to bring peace first to our own hearts, and then through us to those around us. Bring the peace of God to the broken, tortured world around us as only you can do.

Commission to Serve the King:
2 Thessalonians 1:11–12

May God make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
