Call to Prayer: Psalm 51:1–2

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!

Time of Gratitude

“Give thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Eph. 5:20).

Take this time to give thanks to God for three (3) specific things from the last 24 hours.

Praying the Lord’s Prayer: “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us”

God, we have sinned and we are sorry. We rebel against you for the rightful place in our hearts to rule.  Thank you for the work on the cross. Thank you for the ultimate once and for all atonement for sin. Thank you for the victory over sin that the resurrection grants us. We don’t deserve it. We did not earn it. But you gave it to us while we were yet deeply in sin. Thank you for your gift of salvation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture Reading from the Epistles: Romans 6

  1. How do you see the sovereignty of God in this passage?
  2. How might God be calling you into obedience today?

Praying the Mission of Exchange: “Enjoy the Glory of God”

Attribute of God to Praise: God is Righteous

You are perfect in all your ways. Thank you that each thing you does is right, that there is no darkness or shadows of wrongdoing in you. Thank you that unlike us; you do not struggle with knowing and doing right and wrong. We confess that while you are unable to sin, we do persistently struggle with sin. Thank you that you took OUR sin and shame on the cross and gave us HIS righteousness in return (2 Corinthians 5:21).
