Call to Prayer: Psalm 30:11–12

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever!

Time of Gratitude

“Give thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Eph. 5:20).

Take this time to give thanks to God for three (3) specific things from the last 24 hours.

Praying the Lord’s Prayer: “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us”

Jesus, we confess we use our own nature to excuse ourselves. We think if it’s who we are, we have no power over it. We glorify our bent ways in the name of self-love, and we’re sorry. But you have always shown a better way. Your ways, your goodness, your kindness, your faithfulness, your gentleness over our own. You call us to better. Thank you that you care deeply for our hearts, enough to go to those places and expose our sin. Humble us to welcome your exposure. Help us want what you want. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture Reading from the Epistles: 2 Corinthians 4:7–18

  1. How do you see the sovereignty of God in this passage?
  2. How might God be calling you into obedience today?

Praying the Mission of Exchange: “Enjoy the Glory of God”

Attribute of God to Praise: God is Providential

Thank you God that you are working as you have always been, for your glory and for our good. Thank you that you have been at work since the beginning of the world and even before, writing a story so beautiful and so true that we cannot even begin to comprehend. Thank you that one day we will see the threads of your providence not in part but in the whole: a breathtaking tapestry of your goodness and grace throughout time and history to the glory of your name.

Commission to Serve the King:
1 John 4:7

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
