Call to Prayer: Psalm 6:2–4

Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am languishing; heal me, O LORD, for my bones are troubled. My soul also is greatly troubled. But you, O LORD—how long? Turn, O LORD, deliver my life; save me for the sake of your steadfast love.

Time of Gratitude

“Give thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Eph. 5:20).

Take this time to give thanks to God for three (3) specific things from the last 24 hours.

Prayer for the Church

You are holy, O God of majesty, and blessed is Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord. You sent him into this world to satisfy the longings of your people for a Savior, to bring freedom to the captives of sin, and to establish justice for the oppressed. He came among us as one of us, taking the lot of the poor, sharing human suffering. We rejoice that in his death and rising again, you set before us the sure promise of new life, the certain hope of a heavenly home where we will sit at table with Christ, our host. Amen. [WSB, 460]

Scripture Reading from the Enthronement Psalm: Psalm 96

  1. How do you see the sovereignty of God in this passage?
  2. How might God be calling you into obedience today?

The Gathering of the Redeemed for the Worship of the King

Pray for the gathering of believers for the worship of God. Pray that we may be filled with the Spirit in order that we may worship the Lord in Spirit and Truth. Pray that God will bless the worship of his people, that we may enjoy the glory of God, being fully satisfied in him. Amen.

Commission to Serve the King:
Romans 8:38–39

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
