Call to Prayer: Psalm 32:5

I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

Time of Gratitude

“Give thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Eph. 5:20).

Take this time to give thanks to God for three (3) specific things from the last 24 hours.

Praying the Lord’s Prayer: “Our Father who are in Heaven, Hallowed by thy Name”

Sovereign in all your ways, we thank you that we can trust you. All that is before us today, you already know. All that we will encounter, and all the places we will go, you have already gone before us. We trust that you are working out a story today that is consistent with who you are and who you have always been.  Forgive us for still trying to write this story to our own liking. And we thank you for gently leading us in the ways that are better. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture Reading from the Old Testament: Jeremiah 31:31–37

  1. How do you see the sovereignty of God in this passage?
  2. How might God be calling you into obedience today?

Attribute of God to Praise: God is Holy

Thank you that you are pure and good in ways that we can never be. Thank you that you are unlike us, your holiness is not marred by the sin and the brokenness of the world. Rather, you make all around you holy and good and whole. Thank you for being holy and yet making a way for us decisively unholy sinners to be in your presence through the work of Jesus on the cross. Show us why your holiness is a reality to be treasured and celebrated even if we don’t fully understand it.
