This Week: Resting Well // Journey of the Cross // Exchange Buddies // Become Gathering // This Week @ Exchange
We enjoyed hearing Larry Trotter, the senior pastor at North Wake Church, preach on Sunday. His message from Matthew 11:28–30 presented Jesus’s invitation to come to him and experience rest for your soul. In the busyness of life, we often overlook this invitation. We are like Martha in Luke 10 who “had Jesus in her living room and chose the kitchen instead.” Larry invited us to reconsider the order of our lives.
If you missed the message or wanted to re-listen, go here.
Graham Michael, who has done extensive study on the practice of rest, has provided us with an incredibly helpful primer on establishing a life of rest. If you would like more resources and pratical steps toward regular rhythms of rest, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Journey of the Cross
For centuries, the Church has intentionally and collectively anticipated the season leading up to Easter. Together they prayed, studied, meditated, and fasted, all with the aim to prepare their hearts to once again celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Each year Easter reminds us of our part in God’s redemptive story. The story provides hope in our sure future. By celebrating this story, we are bound together with our sisters and brothers in the past under the banner of the Suffering Servant who became the Victorious Risen King over all creation.
In preparation for Easter, Exchange has provided a guide to lead us through this story with daily prayer, Scripture, and reflection. The goal is to grow as a body in unity, celebrate together using similar rhythms, and engage our hearts by praying the same prayers and reflecting on the same readings.
Printed copies of the guide will be available this Sunday in the lobby.
Join us for corporate prayer at 9:20AM as we begin this Journey of the Cross, fixing our eyes on our Savior this season.
We all need a Buddy!
The Buddies Ministry is part of Exchange’s commitment to families with children who have special needs. We often provide individual Buddies to help include every child in the existing Exchange Kids’ ministries. We are in great need for more Buddies to expand the number of available volunteers. Please contact email@example.com if you are interested in serving the church in this way.
Did you miss the Become Gathering last month? No problem! Part One will begin again on March 1st at 8:15 AM in the Rolesville Elementary Library. We will discuss the vision of Exchange, share more about our culture, and how you can best connect with us.
Childcare is provide as needed, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to make arrangements.
